#FBF Learning is Child’s Play Race

We’re flashing back to our annual fall fundraising event, the Learning is Child’s Play 10k/5k/1mi Race. This year it was held at a beautiful location: Floyd Lamb Park at Tule Springs. The children were able to walk, or attempt to race, their one mile while the diehards ran a 10k or 5k.

#FBF Pancake Breakfast

With this year’s annual Pancake Breakfast approaching on Sunday, September 25th, we thought we would share the fun of last year’s event with everyone! This is a favorite morning for our children as many get to see their teacher for the first time outside of the classroom. In the past we’ve teamed up with a local Applebee’s who’s kitchen and dining room opens for us to have a pancake and egg breakfast for just our school.

#FBF Summer Camps

Our Camp Co-op is the camp experience most of our students start out attending. This year our June session included outside play in our backyard, water play, circle time, music, art, and our ever-popular snack bar. The children have a chance to participate, play and learn with a multi-age group and other students and teachers they may not get to see on a regular basis. It is a fun and messy week!

#FBF Tea for Two

In May we celebrated the special caregivers in our lives by hosting an annual tradition, Tea for Two. Our Multi-Age Classroom

This year we are embarking on a new adventure, introducing a multi-age 3-4’s class into our offering. Our staff is very excited about this for several reasons. At this point, we are offering it for a Tuesday/Thursday group. We hope to be able to accommodate more three-year-olds at our school (typically that age has a wait list) and to explore the enriching experience this opportunity presents. Read on to learn about what the day will look like and why you might want to consider this for your child.

Unplug and Play

At our last business meeting of the school year in May, our staff presented us with some very compelling and concerning information regarding kids and screen time. Much of what we discussed is located in this blog. They then challenged us to pledge different ways that could “Unplug and Play” when faced with the adversity of the summertime heat, doldrums, and the need to just get things done as parents. While it’s particularly important in the summer when school is out of session, much of this can still be applied to the school year, especially for our preschoolers who may not attend every day of the week or all day. We hope we can inspire you to hit the “off switch” a little more and some reasons to do so!
