In May we celebrated the special caregivers in our lives by hosting an annual tradition, Tea for Two. Since we do not get a chance to honor the fathers of the Co-op because the holiday does not fall into our school year and we wanted to be inclusive to the family dynamics of all of the children here at the Co-op, we gave our families the opportunity to include Dad, Mom, or even Grandmother in the event starting this year.

A favorite of the parents is the descriptions and depictions by the children which produce lots of laughs!
Photo booth fun with Mom!
Mrs. Johnston prepped her classes for the event by practicing having tea parties and giving the children opportunities to role play. Mrs. Fitz’s classes practiced and performed a song for their guests. Teachers asked our children details about their special caregiver who would attend for the “Mystery Date.” Coordinators organized what families would bring in to contribute to the food and beverage for the day.
How does this work?!
Pretend time with Mommy, and a real tea set!
Getting every last drop of pretend tea.
Making a heart charm with Mom.
We loved laughing with everyone as we heard our children’s descriptions of us and saw their artistic depictions. We delighted in sitting on tiny chairs with all the other parents and little ones. We giggled as the icing got eaten first. We smiled and made silly faces in the photo booth.
The mustaches were a hit in the “Photo Booth”

Thank you to our thoughtful teachers for arranging such a special day and creating lasting memories for all of us!
